Calculating the Six-Month Limit for a Non-Student Hourly
Home > Records > Six-Month Limit

Time is calculated by the pay period end date. The first month is calculated using the pay period end date when salary is first processed.

Consecutive Months

If the employee is working consecutive months, count six months. The last day the employee can work is the last pay period end date of that month.

Non-Consecutive Months

If the employee is not working consecutive months, the employee may work any six months out of a twelve-month period. The period begins with the month of the pay period end date when salary is first processed. A month worked is calculated by using each pay period end date when salary is processed.
